Chaffee County Community Foundation Joins Watershed!

By October 24, 2018 No Comments

We’re happy to welcome Chaffee County Community Foundation to Watershed!

Their big goals are to inspire giving in our community, support our nonprofit organizations, and provide leadership on vital community issues.

What is a Community Foundation?

A community foundation is a public, nonprofit organization established to promote and facilitate philanthropy in a specific geographic area. These tax-exempt charities are created by and for the people in a local area.
We believe the Chaffee County Community Foundation (CCCF) will increase overall local philanthropy, support over 100 existing local nonprofit organizations by connecting donors to community needs, build permanent charitable funds, and continue to engage people to solve community problems.
CCCF will do this by helping individuals, families, and businesses establish charitable funds to which they may contribute a variety of assets. Grants will be made from these funds to nonprofit organizations in order to meet the charitable goals of the donor. Donors and their families may be actively involved in the selection of the nonprofit groups.
CCCF has established a Board of Directors, which has already developed a broad perspective of our regional priorities thanks to the work of Envision Chaffee County. Working closely with community leaders, CCCF will develop in-depth knowledge of our county and remain alert to emerging needs so that it can respond quickly and effectively. CCCF will build on Envision’s success by convening groups including donors, nonprofit leaders and elected officials to work together on community problem-solving.

Join CCCF for a community gathering filled with philanthropy and desserts this evening at 6:00 PM to celebrate the revitalization of Chaffee County Community Foundation!

Location: Buena Vista Community Center, Pinon Room

Date & Time: 10/24 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM

What to expect, besides yummy desserts:

Michael Hannigan and the Board of Directors will discuss the revitalization of the community foundation and how we plan to help the nonprofit organizations that help make our community great.
