Free SBIRT training for Health and Wellness practitioners. (Screening, Brief Intervention, Refer to Treatment). According to the CDC, 5% of Americans drink at levels requiring treatment and 70% are at low risk or abstinence requiring no intervention. The other 25%, however, drink at risky levels and may not even know it. This is the demographic that concerns SBIRT. SBIRT is a simple alcohol and drug prevention screening tool that has, in Colorado, become a crucial strategy for identifying those who use substances at risky levels and how to intervene before bigger problems arise. This training will deal primarily with alcohol and marijuana use and will be beneficial to any professional or lay person concerned about substance abuse. Please see attached flyer for more details. Register for this training by contacting Jennifer Wood, jennifer@bgcchaffee.org. Questions? Call Jennifer (719) 395-7014 or Mike Orrill (719) 221-5418.... See MoreSee Less
